Thirty-six narratives on travel, natural history, etc., mostly autobiographical and reminiscent. Most were unpublished although shortened and somewhat altered versions of 6, 7, 12, 13, 17, 19, 21, 23 and 26 were used by Mrs. Alec Tweedie in her life of Harley. Also included is a letter from Harley to Captain Zufnell, 30 July 1890, thanking him for a present of an iron Indian boomerang, rare and valuable. He discusses boomerangs in Egypt and Assyria and asks for more information on how an iron one was thrown and any other facts about it.
