James Martin papers, 1918.

Copies (typewritten) of two series of letters from Martin who was in the Transport Service to his mother (not named) and family describing two voyages on a troopship, the S.S. City of Exeter. The letters have details of the trips from New York to Liverpool, his stays in London, the return trips, and celebration of the Armistice. Martin mentions a visit in London with his friend George Smart who was serving in the war, and Martin's sister Ruth Martin.
