Letters, home insurance policies, and memorabilia of this active member of St. Paul's early African-American community. In particular, they show Wade, a state capitol messenger, to have been actively interested in the 1895 gubernatorial campaign and other political affairs, and affiliated with the local Africo-American Social Club and John Brown Monument Association.
