Letters (25) from Jasper Searles to his family in Hastings, Minnesota, while serving in the 1st Minnesota Infantry during the Civil War (1861-1864); a diary begun by Searles (1861), but primarily kept as a medical and prescription book (1864-1865) by Robert Morris as assistant surgeon of the 11th Minnesota Infantry; 41 prescription slips for various illnesses; and Morris' discharge papers.
