Chancellor's administrative files, 1983-1995.

This series consists of correspondence and memoranda to and from the Chancellor of Post-Secondary Education during the chancellorships of Charles L. Payne and Fred Gainous. Much of the correspondence is between the chancellor and members of the Alabama State Board of Education. The series also contains memoranda to the Alabama college system presidents informing them of policies and procedures affecting their institutions. The department also makes recommendations to the presidents regarding candidates for administrative posts.
