Letters, 1879-1883.

These letters were written by Thomas Williams in Washington, D.C. to his wife Rebecca in Wetumpka. There are also two letters written by Thomas' brother-in-law James Henry Judkins. The letters discuss various court cases, politics, family matters, and efforts to secure a pardon for a friend's son at the Albany (Ala.) Penitentiary.

Williams, Mr. (Thomas), 1825-1903

Thomas Williams was a lawyer and planter residing in Wetumpka, Ala. He also served as justice of the peace, register in chancery, prison inspector and a trustee of the Alabama Polytechnic Univ. at Auburn, Ala.
