Capitol research negatives, 1861-1987

This series consists of photographic negatives of persons and places throughout the historic state capitol. Included are a 1906 photograph of Alabama Dept. of Archives and History Director Thomas M. Owen in the basement with a mountain of records and a photograph of Jefferson Davis' body lying in state in the Supreme Court library. There are many exterior views of the capitol building. Also present are images of the following individuals: John H. Bankhead, Braxton Bragg Comer, Lucien Gardener, Thomas E. Kilby, Horace King, Benjamin Meek Miller, and Emmet O'Neal.
