Administrative files of the Signal Corps, 1893-1917.

According to the Military Laws of the State of Alabama, 1898, the active military force of the state may not consist of more than four regiments of infantry, one regiment of cavalry, one regiment of artillery, and a signal corps. This series consists of the administrative records sent to the Adjutant General by the Signal Corps. These files consist of recruit examination information, oaths of enlistments, and correspondence. Information in these files includes descriptive lists of recruits, lists of regulations, and how the signal corps was organized.
