This series consists of the general routine correspondence of the Secretary of State's office, 1882-1945, 1969-1970. It contains letters sent to the Secretary's office requesting information or material, or paying a fee or notifying the office of a change specifically in corporation offices. A large percentage of the correspondence is merely requests from individuals and companies for copies of state publications or requests for information. The responses of the Secretary of State's office are included only in those files after 1900. These responses are generally brief as they relate to routine, day-to-day matters handled by the office.
