Maxwell Field photographs, [ca.1943-1944].

This collection contains photographs from 1943 and 1944. The collection is divided into four groupings: reception for the A. A. F. Conference, dinner for General W. W. Welsh, dedication of the Maxwell Monument, and miscellaneous. The first grouping contains four photos from the reception of the A. A. F. Conference at Maxwell Field. The Conference lasted from February 18th to the 20th, 1944. The Conference brought together forty key A. A. F. generals, including the special guest Major General John F. Curry. The second grouping contains two photos from the June 6, 1943, dinner held for General W. W. Welsh. The third and largest grouping contains forty-four photos from the dedication ceremony for the Maxwell Monument. The photos from this grouping show the process of making the monument, placing a history of Maxwell Field booklet in the monument, and the ceremony for the monument.
