The records of Perpich's second and third terms document all aspects of the operations of the governor's office. There are substantive files on state agencies; the work of the office's communications department; judicial and administrative appointments; legislation and policy initiatives; taxation and budgeting; speeches and speechwriting; the governor's participation in public and promotional events; and the activities of the state of Minnesota's Washington, D.C. office. Although most of the major file series date back to 1983, the bulk of the materials in most files date from 1987 to 1990.
