Executive records. Consists of correspondence, military reports (French and Indian as well as Revolutionary Wars), instructions issued to civil and military officials, and certificates of election. Also contains "historical notes" that summarize Maryland history from 1632 to 1674 with many that concern relations with Indian tribes, King George II's instructions to Lord Baltimore and his subsequent instructions to Governor Horatio Sharpe (1753). Other documents recount colonial military strategy during the French and Indian War and several laws pertaining to the collection of naval duties. Also contains a catalog of 168 North American trees (n.d.). No apparent arrangement. Correspondents include governors, Convention of Maryland, Council of Safety, King George II, Lord Baltimore, and civil and military officials.
