The record book contains copies of official reports of officers, chiefly Nathaniel Buckley, of the U.S.S. Dale which describe military actions in the Mexican towns of Guaymas, Cochori, Bacocha Vampa, and Buenos Aires during the Spring of 1848. Included is a sailing record of the Dale, listing all ports of call between embarcation from New York in June of 1846 and return to New York in August on 1848. Also included is a record of personal expenditures (1859-1864) of Franklin E. Harrington of Michigan.
