In particular, letters to James Irʹenʹee and Camille Bidermann, residents of France, provide information about crops, the weather, family matters, and local events in Delware. The Bidermann family originated from Winterthur, Switzerland. James Antoinne Biderman emigrated to the United States in 1813 to audit Du Pont Co. records. His father had already made a substantial investment in the firm. After completing his review, James Antoinne became interested in the manufactory and he joined the firm in 1815.
