A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Taflinger was an artist and teacher in a variety of mediums. In New York he studied with George B. Bridgeman and worked for stage producer David Belasco. Taflinger is best remembered for his murals and the Ruins, a setting for a Karl Bitter statue grouping in Holliday Park, Indianapolis, Ind. From the description of Papers, 1890-1980.
