The papers consist of selected documents about and by Robert Ley in preparation for his trial as a war criminal at Nuremburg. Included are his "politisches Testament an mein Deutsches Volk" and official statements issued in connection with his suicide. Robert Ley was born in 1890 in Niederbreitenbach, Germany. He entered the Nazi Party in 1924 and edited anti-Semitic newspapers. As head of the German Labor Front he was a prominent spokesman for National Socialism. He committed suicide in prison in Nuremburg while awaiting trial for war crimes.
