Caricatures of Irish comedy actors, ca.1938.

The larger board depicts Eileen Crowe and Denis O'Dea in the comedy, The far off hills (top left); May Craig and F.J. McCormick in the drama, The new gossoon (top right); scene from the comedy, Drama at the Inish, by the Abbey Theater players at Hanna (bottom). The smaller board depicts actors from that play: Aideen O'Connor, Maureen Delany, M.J. Dolan, F.J. McCormick and Austin Meldon. The posters appear to have been prepared for the drama section of a newspaper. Drama at Inish and The far off Hills are comedies by Lennox Robinson. The new gossoon is written by George Shiels who writes about small town life in Ireland.
