Letter concerning F.E. Cannon : ALS, 1878 May 22.

Letter written and signed by J.T. Coffin, Secretary of Clay Lodge No. 101 in Dutch Flat, Calif., asking permission to receive and act upon a petition from F.E. Cannon to be conferred the third degree of masonry. The letter is addressed to the wardens and members of Oroville Lodge No. 103, in Oroville, Calif. Letter is written on paper displaying a raised seal, with a pencilled note on the reverse side: "Right granted to Clay Lodge to confer 3d degree."
