Newspaper clipping subject files, 1993-1995.

The Governor is the chief executive of the state whose function is to administer the laws of the state. These clippings files contain editorials, memoranda, political cartons, press releases, and resumes, besides the clippings. Among the subjects discussed are: AIDS, appointments, the 1994 campaign for election in Alabama for various offices, but particularly for governor, the environment, tort reform, insurance issues, natural disasters, and several state agencies. Receiving particular attention were issuses such as the Conferate battle flag, education and educational reform, pending legislation, the budget, economic development and the decision by Mercedes-Benz to build a plant in Alabama.
