Early land owners in Indian Cession of 1814, 1924.

Map, 1924, showing land owners in territory which formerly belonged to the Creek Indians. It does not encompass all of the Creek lands, but is limited to parts of what is now Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery counties. Created by Thomas Hewlett in 1924, the map is a copy of an original which was owned by John Crommelin at the time Hewlett copied it. Stating a scale of 7/8" = 1 mile, the map shows townships, ranges, and sections upon which the different properties are marked and labeled with family surnames. It also has the rivers and creeks in the area marked and identified, as well as the Georgia Road and Turnpike Road. A list of the surnames on the map is available in the repository.
