The public information subject files - governors files, consist of records which document the administrations of the governors of the State of Alabama, from 1819 to 1983. The information was compiled by the ADAH reference staff. Included in the files are newspaper clippings, handwritten information, invitations to exhibit openings, magazines, inaugural programs, and various other related materials that may be used for reference purposes. The bulk of this series contains information about the administrations of James E. Folsom, Lurleen B. Wallace, and George C. Wallace.

Lurleen Burns Wallace (born Lurleen Brigham Burns; September 19, 1926 – May 7, 1968) was the 46th governor of Alabama for fifteen months from January 1967 until her death in May 1968. She was the first wife of Alabama governor George Wallace, whom she succeeded as governor because the Alabama constitution forbade consecutive terms.
