Boys of the 90's: manuscript, [ca.1970].

Manuscript, ca. 1975, indexed by Klinge, containing his autobiography and reminiscences of notable people and events in the history of Montgomery, Montgomery Co., Ala., as well as some genealogy of his forebears. In it, Klinge describes himself as "the Boy", and details not only his personal experiences, but some of the larger events as well, such as the effects of the Panic of 1893, a public hanging, the start of The Montgomery Evening News, attending minstrel shows, and the spread of streetcar lines such as the Seely line and the Montgomery Terminal & Street Railway. There are many other interesting events, but among the more notable ones are the description of the 1898 eclipse, the Spanish-American War, the visit of President McKinley, his full-time employment at the Montgomery Light and Water Power Co., which became part of the Alabama Power Co. in 1923, the arrival of prohibition in 1910, working with the cartoonist Spang, singing in the Montgomery Male Chorus, the Montgomery flood of 1919, and other events and people into the 1940's.
