Carried to Stanard by Mr. Patton, who was visiting Richmond on business, the letter discusses high prices and alludes to the possibility of an impending war [with England?]. Also referenced are activities of the (General) Assembly, specifically the naming of Mr. Prunty to his position. As his legislative duties allow, Mr. Stanard is asked to reply as well as to remember Mercer to his friend, Jos. Preston.
