Fifty-five items are letters from Charles L. Anthony, Company B, 10th Battalion of Virginia Artillery, to his father, mother, brother, or sister. Fourteen items are letters from Pinkney Anthony, brother of Charles L. Anthony and also a member of Company B, 10th Battalion of Virginia Artillery to his father, etc. These 69 letters give detailed accounts of military life. The other 23 items are letters mainly to or from other members of the Anthony family, most of whom resided in Bedford County.
