[2] 1875, November 16, Brooklyn, N.Y., to J. C. Holland.--Writes book notices for the Brooklyn Argus. Asks Holland to forward enclosed notice praising Stedman's work [no enclosure]. Has been ill three months.

Josiah Gilbert Holland was a doctor, an educator, and a popular author, but is best remembered as the first editor of Scribner's.
