A miscellaneous collection of papers including the letters of Dr. John White of Lewes, Delaware while a member of the Delaware House of Representatives for Sussex County to his sons John P. White and Joseph H. White, both in Philadelphia, 1827-1829. Dr. White, a Whig, comments on Jacksonian politics in lower Delaware as well as upon family affairs. Included, too, are some papers of three naval officers whose careers brought them to Philadelphia: James Madison Frailey, personal copies of orders and circular letters reflecting his commands on the blockading squadron during the Civil War, 1861-1866, and his commissions, 1851-1870; James R. M. Mullany commissions, 1861-1870; Charles Stewart, 1 letter, 1864.
