Letters to James Wadsworth, 1793.

A collection of four letters written by Butler and his attorneys regarding the collection of a note from Ebenezer Allen. Butler loaned Allen a large sum of money to purchase some land in western New York. Allen lost the land and could not repay the money. Allen later slandered Butler's name, which infuriated him and caused him to seek repayment of the loan through Wadsworth. The letters review the particulars of the situation and request Wadsworth to collect the debt. All of the letters are written from Lower Canada.
