Timothy Follett was born in Bennington, VT on January 5, 1793, the only son of Susanna (Fay) and Timothy Follett Sr. Moving to Burlington after the death of his father, Follett entered the University of Vermont in 1806 and graduated four years later. Henry Stevens was born on August, 24, 1819, in Barnet, Vermont. He attended Middlebury College for a year, but graduated from Yale College in 1843 with the degree of B.A. Upon graduating, he attended Harvard Law School for a year.
