Letter, 1792 July 22.

Letter to Stephen Van Rensselaer regarding Van Rensselaer's recent loss of the Governor's election to Clinton. Cooper makes a lengthy argument against the current system of electing the governor and cites several examples of other unconstitutional laws. He advises Van Rensselaer to avoid Clinton lest he should confirm Clinton's election. Written at Cooperstown, N.Y.
