Fay Ollerton Tarlock was born on 5 February 1897 in Parowan, Utah to James and Mary Emma Adams Ollerton. She married Anthony J. Tarlock. She died 3 September 1989. Much of the collection contains information about her sister, Anna Ollerton, who was a librarian at Brigham Young University for more than thirty years.
