Military records, 1779-1780, including a size roll of Captain John Davis' Company, 9th Pennsylvania Regiment, kept at West Point, continued as a register of furloughs, Court Martials, dead, discharged and deserted. Also contains a delinquent clothing account, January-November 20 1780, a camp equipment account, 14 June-10 December 1780, an account of ammunition, arms, etc., monthly returns for inspections, 3 April-25 December 1780 and individual clothing accounts, 7 January-20 November 1780. Rear of volume contains a table of contents.

In response to the expansion of the Continental Army the number of staff was increased and reorganized in 1776. Changes included the creation of a new unit to supplement George Washington's personal staff. This special unit, the Commander in Chief's Guard, was formed on March 12, 1776 with Captain Caleb Gibbs (formerly adjutant of the 14th Continental Regiment and appointed Aid to Major General Greene) as commander.
