Marriage bonds, 1795-1913 [microform].

The marriage bond is a legally binding agreement entered into by the bride and groom as a covenant with the Commonwealth of Kentucky that the marriage will occur. The bond may include: number, date, name of husband and wife to be, name of surety, terms of bond, and county clerk attestation.

Campbell County was the nineteenth county created in Kentucky. Formed in 1795 from Mason, Scott, and Harrison Counties, it was named for Colonel John Campbell, an early settler.
