The Typophiles, Inc. records (1940s-1996) document the various functions of the organization including luncheons, membership, publications and travels of the Junketeers.$bThe collection also documents the life of long-time president, Robert L. Leslie (1914 - 1986) including his personal papers, correspondence and other materials of his wife, Dr. Sarah K. Greenberg, Leslie's typographic business, The Composing Room, Inc., the exhibits of Gallery 303 and the Heritage of the Graphic Arts lecture series. The collection includes art work, awards, bills, blueprints, book orders, books, brochures, calligraphy examples, cards, catalogs, certificates (framed and unframed), chap books, check ledgers, correspondence, event schedules, expenses, flyers, galley proofs, hand-printed items, invitations and response cards, keepsakes, manuscripts, meeting minutes, memorabilia, monographs, photographs, slides and negative film, plaques, posters, printed matter, receipts, resumes, roosters, scrapbooks, travel materials, and typographic reference materials. Of particular note is a folder of correspondence to Sarah Greenberg from Catherine Deaver Lealtad, a U.N. worker who describes her experiences visiting areas in France and Germany at the close of WWII, and later in China during the Civil War.
