Weaving patterns, [ca.1821-ca.1847].

Consists of 32 weaver's draughts (patterns) for homespun coverlets and tablecloths from Wythe County, Va. Six are identified as to the owner, "Elizabeth Brown's Coverlet Draft." Others are signed by Brown, Sarah Huddle, Elizabeth Huddle, Elizabeth Dutton, Jonas Huddle, and Benjamin King. Although eleven patterns are not named, the remainder depict patterns that were given a title. Identified patterns include: Washington Beauty Table Cloth, Rising Sun, Snowball, Corded Cotton Counterpane, Corded Honeycomb & Satin Stripe, Pennsylvania Lemon, Kentucky (?), Dollar and Cents, Queen's Delight, Mon's Fancy, Laurel Leaf, Beauty of the World, Morning Star (two versions), Cord Huck-a-Buck, Olive Leaf, Window Sash, The World's Wonder, and Honeycomb. Most of the patterns have what appears to be pin holes, suggesting that the designs were executed. A few also contain instructions for loom and treadle settings.

32 items.
