Henry Belin du Pont Jr., was born on July 23, 1898. He attended Yale University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating with a B.S. in Engineering in 1923. From 1923 to 1925 he was employed at General Motors' Dayton, Ohio research laboratory. In 1927 he came to the Du Pont Company's Engineering Department.
