Accounts, bills, deeds, releases, mortgages, military commissions, wills and business papers, 1667-1852 of the Staats family. Included are accounts for rent of the East Manor of Rensselaerwyck for 1654-1821. Also included are ledgers for the East Manor, 1699-1735, kept by John Van Vechten as treasurer under Hendrick Van Rensselaer, patroon of the manor. The collection also includes the papers of the Brees family, 1785-1836. These papers include the public and private papers of John Brees, lawyer and sheriff of Rensselaer County.
