Records, 1837-1859.

The records consist primarily of letters to Benjamin B. Lehman, resident engineer (1855-1858), and later general superintendent of the company. They concern daily operating problems such as difficulties with boat owners and with water supply. There are also records of boats passing through the canal and coal shipped on the railroad for the years 1844, 1846 and 1847, and 26 toll receipts for 1857-1858.
