This series consists of accounts of various officials removed from the loose legislative papers or "Green Files". Each separate box contains the accounts of a single official. Accounts include those for clerks of court, constables, coroners, guards, jailers, the legislative library, justices, sheriffs, printers, public works, and witnesses; as well as governmental, military, and medical accounts.

A number of South Carolina militia units were adopted into the Continental Army. The 1st South Carolina Regiment, organized in 1775, consisted of ten companies. The Regiment was consolidated, although it retained its name, with the 5th Regiment, February 11, 1780 to consist of nine companies.
