Photostat copy of a commonplace book, 1822-1840, and microfilmed letters written by Ripley, a New England editor, literary critic, and reformer while he was assistant editor of the New York Tribune or traveling in Europe, most of them to his sister Marianne, who was living with the Brigham family in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. The letters deal largely with personal matters regarding his work, associates, and marriage.
