Through the banister : a child's eye-view of long ago : photocopy of typescript, [19??].

Reminiscences of Bertha Margaret Price, describing the Price family's years in the Ukiah hotels, 1898-1904. The Chinese workers in the hotels are discussed at some length. There is also some discussion of the family's experiences before and after their stay in Ukiah, including a brief account of their time living in Ensenada, Mexico. Includes ten leaves of photocopies of photographs, a poem by Bertha Margaret Price, and a short prose description of Calif. landscape by Margaret Price. The last 16 leaves, titled "Mother's notes," were written at a later date, when the author was over 80 years old.

Price's parents, Ory Elmer and Emma Louise Price, purchased the Palace Hotel and the Grand Hotel in Ukiah, California in 1898, when Price was nine years old. According to the author, these were the only hotels in Ukiah at the time. Both were sold by the family in 1904.
