The Press Secretary oversees all public relations activities in which the governor participates. These are the general files of information on various topics collected by the Press Secretary. The series consists of correspondence, memoranda, publications, pamphlets, photographs, speeches, and newspaper clippings. The material was apparently used by various staff members to prepare press releases, correspondence, speeches, and briefings. Among the staff members who may have created the files are: Terry Abbott, Donald Claxton, Stacey Stackley, and Vickie Smith. Subjects include: tax reform, abortion, gambling, education, business growth, and rap music. Also included are newspaper clippings on Alabama county issuses.
