Alexander K. Hall family photographs, [185-?]-[19--?].

This collection contains 13 black and white prints, 1 ambrotype, and 3 daguerreotypes. The majority of the images in this collection are of Hall family members, including Alexander Kirtland Hall (1817-1876), his wife Mary Ann Cooke Hall and their sons Frederick (d. 1856), Edward Clifton (d. 1861), and Alexander Kirtland (1845-1881). In addition, the younger Alexander's wife, Mary Snyder Johnson Hall (d. 1876) and their children Frank Johnson Hall (1870-1881), Edward Clifton Hall (1874-1911), and Elizabeth Fambro Hall (b. 1872) are in the collection. Other images in the collection include photos of Colonel W. W. Fambro and his wife Elizabeth and photographs of Senator and Mrs. Edmund Pettus who were all close friends of Mary Snyder Johnson Hall. There are also photos of Sunnyside, the Hall family home, and "County Line" Church where Mary Snyder Johnson Hall was buried. The collection also has two images of African Americans, one of an unidentified group and another of "Aunt Phrony" with some of her grandchildren. Aunt Phrony was a former slave of the Hall family who continued to live on the family property long after the Halls left the area in 1893.
