A record of the towns, theaters, dates, and prices (with occasional played and earned figures) for films exhibited between 1919-1941. The contracts generally are recorded by exchange and thus enable easy comparison of films in different sections of the country. Originally, the volumes were created in three segments: 1919-October 1927, October 1927-April 1931, and 1937-1941. Volumes for May 1931-1937 and May 1943-1950 were lacking when the collection was received by the Historical Society. The early registers also contain brief notations with reference to theaters closing or changing hands, mention of cancelled showings or reduced rates, and occasional recordings of censored films.
