The Board of Painting Examiners was established May 12, 1937 [Laws 1937 c428 s1] to examine all applicants for contractor's or journeyman painter's licenses and issue the licenses, to hold hearings into violations of the registration act or code of minimum standards, to reissue revoked or suspended licenses at the end of the revocation/suspension period, and to recommend changes to the registration act and code. These registers were kept under the RRWC's regulatory responsibilities for stockyard rates (1919-1922; see Laws 1919 c461) and for licensing of livestock buyers (1935-1967; see Laws 1935 c216). In 1967 the RRWC was replaced by the Public Service Department (Laws 1967 c864), and in 1974 the livestock regulatory functions were transferred to the Department of Agriculture (Laws 1974 c347). The 1962-1975 RRWC register book was apparently transferred to and used by these successor agencies. ...
