Reminiscence of the August 23, 1862 Dakota Indian attack on New Sweden Township (Nicollet County, Minn.). Holmquist, a young girl, was captured, witnessed the murder of her mother, went into shock and was left for dead, and was later rescued by her father. With cover letter from her grandson, H. O. Johnson, to the Minnesota Historical Society (1925).
