Journal commencing July 29th 1804, 1804.

The diary, kept at a North West Company post on the Rainy River (Minn.), was probably written by Hugh Faries, but possibly by Thomas McMurray, both clerks at the post. It contains information on the competition between the North West Company and the XY Company and on the employment of voyageurs. Accompanied by a sheaf of prefatory and content notes, apparently by Grace Lee Nute.

79 p. (40 leaves).
