Copies of correspondence and related documents from the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library, chiefly pertaining to federal regulation of radio communications during the period when the former President was Secretary of Commerce. Reminiscences of Hoover's role in the development of radio regulation and the creation of the Federal Radio Commission are contained in a typescript of his interview with the radio unit of the Columbia University Oral History Collection.

Herbert Clark Hoover (b. August 10, 1874, Iowa-d. October 20, 1964), thirty-first president of the United States, was born in Iowa, and was orphaned as a child. A Quaker known from his childhood as "Bert" to his friends, he began a career as a mining engineer soon after graduating from Stanford University in 1895.
