Proceedings (typed transcript) of one of a series of conferences held by the United States government to discuss the Wheeler-Howard Bill, a proposed reorganization of the government's Indian policies, with Indian tribes from throughout the country. Present in Hayward were 25 Indian delegations from reservations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan, and officials of the Office of Indian Affairs. The Wheeler-Howard Act (also known as the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934) became law on June 18, 1934.
