Miscellaneous papers of a St. Paul brick and stonework contracting firm owned by Peter H. McSherry and Lawrence White. Four invoices document the firm's 1883 work on the Northern Pacific Railroad Company's Fargo, North Dakota shops and Red River bridge, detailing labor and brick and stonework costs; a letter from White's brother concerns the railroad's payment (1884).

Cass Gilbert was born on November 24, 1859, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of General and Mrs. Samuel Augustus Gilbert.
