Financial records kept by Pruyn and the executors of his estate. Included are Pruyn's official cash book, 1832-1860; legal accounts, 1836-1868; four volumes of Pruyn's private ledgers, 1834-1887; the account book of Pruyn's estate, 1887-1889; and Anna Parker Pruyn's private ledger, 1887-1928.

Pruyn was admitted to the New York bar (1831) and practised law in Albany. He was later director of the Mohawk and Hudson Railroad Company (1835-1845), and a trustee of the Mutual Life Insurance Company. Rockwell was a graduate of Yale University (1822) and practised law in Norwich, Connecticut. He later served in the Connecticut senate (1839) and the U.S. Congress (1845-1849).
